Covigliaio Oasis
The Covigliaio Oasis is a real corner of paradise set in the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines, in Firenzuola.
It extends over a mountain area characterized by beech, chestnut and oak forests, as well as meadows and clearings that are home to a rich variety of local flora and fauna.
This protected area is known for its biodiversity and for being a place of refuge for several species of wild animals, such as deer, roe deer, foxes and various birds of prey.
The Oasis is particularly appreciated by nature lovers, excursions and birdwatching. The routes offer the opportunity to explore the natural environment and enjoy suggestive views typical of the Apennines.
The Covigliaio Oasis, in addition to its ecological importance, also has a historical and cultural value: in the area there are remains of ancient settlements and paths that tell the story of rural life in these places.
